Nexon facelift will also get Curvv-like steering wheel, possibly with an illuminated logo.

Tata Motors has been rigorously testing the Nexon facelift ahead of its launch by August this year.  Fresh spy shots that gave us a preview of the upcoming Nexon’s interior that also included many new bits, especially paddle shifters.

  1. Nexon facelift to get the new 10.25-inch touchscreen
  2. Likely to get a dual-clutch automatic gearbox
  3. Will get a major exterior update as well

Tata Nexon facelift: major interior upgrade incoming

In a series of spy shots, the refreshed Tata Nexon can be seen with a new flat-bottom steering wheel that also houses haptic touch controls that are usually seen in premium makes like Mercedes-Benz. The instrument cluster too is revamped to feature a much better digital driver’s display.  The steering wheel itself resembles the one from the Tata Curvv SUV concept that was showcased earlier in concept form. Sources tell us that the Nexon facelift’s Curvv-inspired steering wheel will also get an illuminated logo like the concept.

Additionally, visible on the new steering is the presence of paddle shifters, something that no production Tata car or SUV has been equipped with so far. While these look like paddle shifters, the same could also be controls for adjusting regen on the Nexon EV

Tata currently offers the automatic Nexon with a 6-speed AMT gearbox but the images show the Nexon gear lever with a ‘P’ to indicate a Park mode, which is currently not available in the AMT version. This could mean that the DCT automatic which is available currently only on the Altroz DCA, could make its way on the Nexon facelift.

Moving away from the driver selector and shifter, the next highlight is the touch-operable climate control module, a step up from the current Nexon that has a range of physical buttons for climate controls. Also visible is a wireless charging pad, an element that’s now becoming a staple on modern cars and SUVs. This feature is already available on the Nexon EV Max and is expected to be available on the entire Nexon line-up in future. But perhaps the most awaited upgrade would be Tata’s new 10.25-inch touchscreen that was showcased at the Auto Expo, and since then has made its way to the Tata Nexon EV Max. This new infotainment unit is more fluid and responsive, you can read more about it here
